Some action from Austria with some great scenery!

Jimny 11th Nov 2014 06:30

nice clip vertical spin,

that buble window I haven't seen in Europe and it looks great, since i'd like to recommend one to my boss: could you get me the EASA STC number on it? I'm also assuming there's an affect on speed performance and I'd like to know how much slower you guys fly with that mod.

Cheers,

/Jimny

PS: if there are no EASA STC, PM me and I'll remove the post and we'll never talk about it again :oh:

Awesome video torque137, great footage!

You should sell that to STV or BBC Scotland!!

torque137 12th May 2015 12:07

Thanks AK355,but the BBC were there that day also,it was a significant milestone as it was the last bit of the project to be joined, between Dunkeld and Crieff.Im afraid my footage would pale into insignificance next to the BBCs.

Re Migure21's 14 January post: is JM back from Italy or just doing the Irish Lights part-time now? Hope he's doing well, and that "8 for the gate" still works when training in the sim.

According to this video there is a new world record in helicopter formation flying.:ok::ok::ok:

World Record - Video

SilsoeSid 12th Jun 2015 21:48

I count 25 :hmm:

Being part of number 5 Guard on the AAC Guidon Parade back in '94, I'm sure we had more 'in formation' that that.

Of course, then there's the mass airmiss Wallop was famous for!

Any thoughts on a track and balance, anyone?

Agile 8th Feb 2016 10:32

From this point of view it looks like a big old machine from the past,

it reminds you the kind of torture the components of the rotor head are taking for you while you are enjoying a nice cruising.

next preflight keep it in mind :)

I don't think anyone in the US has picked up any bearpaws yet but the guys in Europe seem to like them. Maybe we will next winter. Are you in BC? Not too long of a drive down to Oregon to try out the Cabri while you await certification.

California fire fighting on Periscope

Ok bear with me.
If you haven't downloaded the smartphone app "periscope" you should.
It is a free and easy way to broadcast live from your phone. The server keeps the video online for replay later.
You can scroll forward by holding your finger on the screen.
It is a useful way to broadcast a ground view of an event or emergency. Will also work from the air.
The map search function is intuitive.
Most of the videos are self absorbed folk doing selfies.
This video has the aerial ballet of several helicopters manoeuvring around high voltage wires a few hours ago.

Fresno Eagle One rescue - with questionable handling

hi,

there is a new video on the net from a rescue of a girl out of a river.
Well done for the rescue - but watching the video - shortly after the two minute mark - I think, the handling of the pilot is questionable.
He starts to fly the MD in low hover with his legs, to operate a switch in the center console.....

a bad habbit, which can lead to desaster, to operate switches in a low hover - m2cw....
