Can anyone comment on the durability of the composite fenestron blades or tailboom cracking in the T2?

I think they flew a 5-blade head on a "Quiet" EC135 a while back also.


Maybe they are doing a rotor upgrade along the same lines as the 500C-to-500D upgrade and hoping for the associated improved performance the extra blade can bring.

With LAVCS on PAX setting - still more vibrations.
You get used to it - but feel the difference, when jumping in occasionaly on to one of the old birds ;-)

Really lots of gadgets, which make pilot life easy. With the rigid rotor head much space above the heads for people going to/from the bird.
Speed - I usually fly with external add ons (camera, High Intensity search light) and cruise then is about 125 KIAS
Without close to 130 KIAS, it isn´t as fast as the EC155.

It certainly isn't short of power. But it has an unique vibe to it. very hard to explain in words. If you can, get someone to give you a ride.

In my opinion and after about 400h in it I would not recommend the H145 for VIP. The LAVCS, which was supposed to be an optional equipment, didnt become standard equipment because Airbus is being generous!
The LAVCS is making the vibration bearable, but its still quite a bad vibration level. Anyone who has flown the H155 will think its broken and anyone coming from an H135 will think someone messed up the tracking really bad.
The other thing is, that the vibration are also creating a deep drone that is very annoying on long flights without active noise cancellation (which we dont use / have in our helmets).
The LAVCS motors have actually ripped themselves out of their mounts in the past, which tells a story on its own.

We end up in an aircraft that has electric motors countervibrating a bad vibration from the main rotor and helmets counterscreaming at us to compensate for drone from the structure...nothing gets to the root of the problem, which would be a redesigned (five-blade) rotor and also a dampened (ARIS?) mount of the MGB to the cell. The Five-Blade-Rotor might do the the trick alone (and it actually does according to some Airbus insiders), but the old BK117 way to attach the MGB is no smart solution either IMO.

One quick question is there a different RFM to the EC145 and one for the H145? Or they have the same RFM only with some extra supplements for the differences between the model.

I believe Hevilift PNG have just started operating a ec145c2 for Total.

Would anyone have a W&B spreadsheet or similar for the 145 T2?
