Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche flew on this day in 1996

Happy New Year all and on this day in 1996, the Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche flew for the first time.

Two years later at Farnborough Air Show 1998 I saw the second prototype make its first international appearance so here are my photos albeit scans from my original 35mm

Shame they cancelled program under a decade later but as i understood the decision was a combo of rising costs / moving goalposts and the army needed the money to modify, sustain their fleet across on both frotntlines in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Cheers

With modern lighter FCC's, and elimination of the NBC environmental requirement, it would make a great FARA now....
