Callsign - “British Rescue” - with effect from 7 September 2023

With effect from 7 September 2023

“British Rescue”

Aircraft operators involved in SAR activities will now use the callsign “British Rescue”, when the safety of life is involved, including HEMS emergency operational tasks or humanitarian tasks.

Abbreviated to “Rescue” by an ATS unit after initial contact, when appropriate within the UK FIR

So we are no-longer all part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

Penny to a Pound that will be changed - "UK Rescue" - maybe?

Probably intended for use in the channel where multiple countries SAR assets could be in use.

I was flying from Koksjide to UK yesterday talking to Ostende and heard a 'French Coastguard' callsign on their frequency.
