Koksjide Open Door 5 Jul 23

I had the honour and pleasure of flying RS02 at the Koksjide Open door event on Wednesday this week. 40 Sqn BAF flew this Sea King and 4 others for 43 years and saved thousands of lives with them.
The unusual paint job is because they were originally ordered for Egypt but that was cancelled and they were bought by the Belgians who simply added the orange nose and tail.
It is hard to describe the love for this aircraft that exists amongst the Belgian public - we had a 100m queue for 5 hours just to walk through the cabin.
The Belgian military hospitality was legendary.
