Agencies & Recruiters
Can anyone explain why all agencies and recruiters seem to be so bloody arrogant these days that they dont seem to feel any obligation to answer you if you ask them a question? -Even if they contacted you first?
Even the agency I work with at the moment asked me to sign a contract by Monday, and then ignored all of my emails to ask them to actually send me a copy to sign until I went up the chain of command and asked the boss whats going on in that office! Finally got a copy today.
I have to say that I have not ever come across anyone in this category who actually communicated well - is it just me, or are all recruiters and agencies so rude?

Do not get me started on marketing departments who oversell the capabilities of the aircraft.

Don't Get Me Started.......
Post redundancy and illness I retrained as an operations auditor. Registered with several well known agencies. Their communications were rare and generic, totally irrelevant to my situation. Without exception they were all abrupt and condescending. That was six years ago and I still get email shots, despite having de-registered from them all.
Got myself a job, worked a couple of years and threw in the towel but still get the odd call asking if I'm interested in auditing somewhere in the back of beyond for pennies. Ah well, it's their budget.
Now I do something completely different with no middle man.

Agency "Your are the best thing since sliced bread" please send me your cv so i can forward it and make money from some lazy HR manager. Oh and how much do you want to earn so we can take a cut of it every month then also charge you to transfer money to your account! But please don't ask us basic questions because actually we don't have a clue................ i used to wash cars before this job. And does a chopper licence mean you can fly jumbo jets as well? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Latest.....
Email from CAE recruiter, plus linked in message: We are looking for someone with experience in x, y, z, with the following qualifications, blah blah, blah - if you are interested, please contact me!
Me: Yes, I have everything you are looking for, can you tell me what country the job is in?
CAE: ...................Zero
Me: F*** you then!
4 days later, I can see they are advertising it. Good luck if you cant be arsed to engage with your clients.

Just fell off the couch laughing. Have had good and bad from HR. Never had experience with agencies or recruiters but from the stories I have heard I think you are correct in your observations.

Regardless of any industry, flying a helicopter, driving a truck, working in a care home, and I could keep on, all they want is their % there is no concern about your well-being, avoid any form of agency like the plague in any industry..... you are good enough to work directly with the main employer

It was via linked-in, so I dont see the root e-mail address. But the job title was " senior pilot recruitment consultant at CAE" I know they run an agency, which is I guess seperate from their HR dept. I too previously worked for CAE, and although their HR dept was occasionally a bit shambolic, it was not arrogant like this.
