Hey.......when you go "Winchester" and the Grunts still need support from the Gunnies.....you do what you got to do to help!

Warning.....don't try this at home.

Only highly skilled, capable, and well trained Aviators should attempt this!

The vehicle appears to get picked up by the weapons rail (?) at the outboard end of the stub wing - must have been on the limit of lateral cg to lift that!

If it wasn’t for the mountains, I would have said it was one of the Helidays at Weston Super Mare.

The narrative from the safety database says the aircraft failed to take off and collided with a car - doesn't look much like what happened in the video

Just a very crap piece of flying - he appears to be completely disoriented at the end of his approach and drifts back and down.

It looks like an rejected takeoff. The pic in the indonesian link probably shows the helicopter just before take off , Doors open and crewmember in front of cockpit.

The description in the link of the original post suggests it was being flown by a Lt General, head of the Disaster Management Agency.

The final touch-down after all the mayhem looks remarkably controlled.

Maybe it was a case of “I have control......sir!” 😄

Shame he isn't a Major-General - Major-General, Disaster has a nice ring to it

Rejected takeoff, likely overpitched with some NR compromises, yada, yada. Skip the Liveleaks video and look at the YouTube one in aviation-safety posted by Encyclo. Adds the context.

Good job that car jumped up and saved them by pulling them back to earth - otherwise they might have reached translational lift and goodness knows what might have happened then.
