Some people were just naturals - ISTR Nick "Stopey" going QHI after just one tour on SAR (Whirlwinds, toward the end of their time). Don't know if he ever regretted it, but he made a very good instructor and examiner.

I worked with Stopey on 84 Sqn and again on the staff of CFS(H) - top bloke as you say. Don't think he regretted the QHI move overall.
