Logging Accident on Olympic Peninsula Pilot Killed

https://komonews.com/news/local/heli...-lake-crescent

Dispatchers said a flight mechanic heard the pilot, Joshua Michael Tripp of Missoula, call out a mayday sometime around 7:30 a.m. that he was going down, according to Brian King with the Clallam County Sheriff's Office.

The wreckage of the helicopter was spotted by a logger just before 9 a.m. and he confirmed the pilot had died, King said. He was the only one on board.

Tripp was the owner of Iron Eagle Helicopter and he was flying a 1965 Bell UH-1B Iroquois when he went down.

RIP
