From the GVIC press release.

http://www.gvi-corp.com/wp-content/u...ter-to-BRS.pdf

While GVIC understands managementís motive to complete the Acquisition in an effort to increase free cash flow and ease the Companyís debt burden, alternative options exist. Such alternatives include a strategic divestment of assets, privatization of the Company, or a merger transaction with a like company. GVIC believes that Era Group, Inc., CHC Group Ltd., or others would entertain discussions on a potential business combination.

That would cut out the competition for qualified pilots which would really give them a stranglehold on pilot's pay.
