EESDL .... actually I would operate under an aoc if it were viable but paying £10-20k a year makes it not !! I have always personally thought that all passengers matter , private & commercial, so they should all operate at the same level of safety. So I would actually like to see a very much simpler cheaper aoc that everyone needs to be part of . But for now , yes , it’s much better to operate privately!

Flew for a parachuting society long time ago. The had a C206 SE-GET ( Goat), which of course went by the name "Geten" ("The Goat") among the para-ppl. After a change to a twin engine A/C it got the reg SE-LAX which went by the name "Laxen" ( "The Salmon").
When it was time to change A/C again I was in charge of that, and we imported a TU206, I called the registration office and asked for the possible registrations. There was not many left but SE-LUS ( Louse) was available so we went for that...the plan to call it "Lusen" ( The Louse").
After some days a very upset man called from the governmental radio-burea. :-) He had gotten our application for radio permissions. He thought that the Swedish CAA hade been very unpleasant when they gave us "the worst reg a aircraft ever could get".
