that example below really show that the value of an aircraft is a variable thing.

lead me to an interesting mind exercise to figure out how much money it would take to put such a specimen back into service potential, By the way 28,000 hours, that's some serious utilization isn't it?.

Not sure I agree with you guys, ownership has its advantages and flexibility and every owner I know has a pretty good handle on the costs... until the CAA change to rules like beacons and radio's. This aircraft is quite old and based in a maritime climate, it is also a long way from any potential buyer, so the post purchase costs will be higher than one in say France. So helimut there is a reason people get married and don't rely on prostitution! It is always nicer knowing it is your own aircraft or boat too and that she has not been abused... and John R81 we all need to appreciate cost to deliver value! right off to take my High maintenance Bird to Lucknam park for lunch....
Helicopter ownership
Advantages of Helicopter ownership are like a marriage for free sex, joining the Army for free haircuts or buying a 747 free the free pinda’s during the ride.

It doesn't say "Never raced or Rallied" or "One careful owner, used to fly to Church on a Sundays" !! As someone just said, if you have to ask how much services and parts will cost (and with 28,000 hours IT WILL need money spending on parts) then YOU CAN'T afford it...............end of..................enough said..........take the hint!!
