Specific mission side-by-side comparison...

I did a side-by-side comparison of a few common helicopter types nowadays for a specific task - mountain rescue mission. The calculation is based on the maximum fuel, the helicopter can carry, when starting the hoist operations. The more the better as we tend to jump from one rescue mission, to another, mid-flight.

The data I got cleared a few thoughts, but on the other hand, I expected a bit more from some types.

Mission profile:
- the site is 27 NM away, return leg via hospital is 31 NM,
- the rescue takes place at 6.500ft, OAT = 17ºC,
- time on scene is 20 minutes,
- all helicopter crew + casualty = 630 kg,
- rescue equipment = 113 kg,
- the power required is 90% TQ.

The 212 and 412 data are from a specific helicopter I fly, whilst the rest is data gained from pprune. Thanks guys! The 412EPI BEM is a rough estimate, as I am still looking for actual data.
The performance charts are from respective helicopters flight manuals. Thanks J!

As the helicopters have different MCP values, I took the baseline of 90% TQ while hoisting. The data was extracted from OGE hover charts (TOP and MCP), which was than interpolated for 90% TQ. As for the accuracy; if I got to within 5-10% from the truth, I did my goal.

I expected a lot more from AW, being all new designs. A nice surprise was the 145; although it's the most limited of all, it can do roughly the same as our super pig, the 412 (no P version), although the MTOM is 3700 compared to 5400 kg.
