She was, no doubt, pleased to get home for a bit of a rest after that.
Not as pleased as she was to get home after the previous trip to the USA...funds ran out meaning that there was no way to pay for the trip home, so the Flying Scotsman languished for some time at a US Army base, destined for scrap, until someone stepped in and paid for the return passage.

A small caution ... I nearly got into a lot of trouble a few years ago doing that with a 109. The enthusiasts lining the tracks aren't there for the happy snaps, they are there to record the SOUND! Ooops, sorreeee.
