Just wondering how prevalent tinnitus

is in the community and if anyone thinks it might have a correlation to the use of active noise cancelling headsets.
Mine is a persistent ringing even though I use both ear plugs and a Bose ANC system.

Got it too, but after 15 years in an air force helmet, 6 years in another helmet type, 11 years with a regular David Clark headset, 6 years of a noise reduction headset, and 6 years of a regular helmet.
Being deaf has its advantages, you can safely ignore the wife's moaning because she screeches and it's too high to hear, and you sleep better at night without hearing the dog f@rt or walls creak. But there are a lot of missed calls on my phone, even on ring and vibrate it gets missed. Tried keeping the phone in my undies but found that I kept ringing my own number.

My Tinnitus doesn't make me deaf, but it does get really annoying at times...such as now when I have two Gazelle engines screeching away at different tones in each of my ears while I try to listen to the news.

My cockpit shows 92db throughout all flight regimes on the iPad meter. Seems like I'll be ok though according to these guys.

Mine is with me like an ever-present 'friend' ... aeroplane and helicopter noise (mostly with helmet and foam earplugs in) has been the ongoing factor, but at various times loud amplifiers and a couple of shooting incidents could have caused some trauma too.
It's workable, not that annoying (maybe because I don't notice it so much these days) but makes the aviation medical beep test a 'guess which ringing tone is real' game rather than a clear-cut experience.
