Or perchance Transport Canada doesn't feel the need to defer to the almighty American government. FAA whining doesn't mean it is right. What does the "global" body ICAO have to say?

This whole issue is easily rectified for the FAA and EASA by simply giving certification within their respective air spaces on the original take off weight it started with. If the Canadian Coast Guard wants the extra, then for them, that's fine....
