50 hours PIC AW139 required for the Hevilift co-pilot position, interesting to see how many qualified AW139 Captains out there intent on applying for a co-pilot position.

50 hours PIC...
How about a half an hour flying or in the sim instead...
If someone has 300 on type, half of them as pilot flying V/IFR and night,
I wonder how would they consider that.
bah...

The requirements are set by the client, but I imagine that if HL can parachute somebody into the job with less than the client required experience they will.
Does anybody know if HL actually have an aircraft for the contract? It's not as if you can go to Augusta and buy a new AW139 and expect delivery within a year.

AFAIK Hevilift have not been awarded this contract yet. It is still at the tender stage.

Mark Six,

You are correct and it is my understanding nothing will be announced until December, or possibly Jan/Feb 2014.

Perhaps not ... BUT I know of a middle east operator who has a few machines available for lease ... so they ARE available (at the moment ).

VIP config? I bet the rig pigs will be happy with that! Unfortunately the economics of 6 pax seats probably won't work...and as for leasing aircraft out of the Middle East, I would have thought the margins on a competitive tender contract like this would be so tight that the economics of leasing might not work.

ERA will lease 139s to Hevilift. ERA leased Hevilift the 2x C++s working until recently in Indonesia under the Nyaman banner.
