Alouette is good cheapish to maintain but drinks fuel Gazelle better but maybe not vintage enough

Where’s your trip going ? Sounds fun?

Hi MD600, Ushuaia2USA.

I'd heard difficult to maintain (lots of greasing?) but perhaps not? Gazelle is also in the frame (my old cab!) but about 3x the money to purchase which is an issue...

Yes greasing before first flight of the day (possibly less if your using it each day but it only takes 10 mins when your used to it
Lots of alouettes and lamas South America so if you need engineer or parts they maybe available , but they are quite reliable

My alouettes don’t get that much use so it’s every time I fly

Yes Gazelle 3 to 4 times the cost

Actually, the Alouette was the world's first helicopter permitted to do single pilot IFR - but that was a long time ago.

PM coming...

Is this still active?

Hi All,
Not sure if this thread is still active, but worth a shot!
I'm looking at purchasing an Alouette II and was wondering if there are any UK maintenance organisations that would cover it on a C of A?
Thanks in advance!

There is not any Flying alouette 11 on the uk register at the moment
Rotorspan look after one on the 2-Reg ,there is at least one on the N register and others on the 2-register using part 43 rules from N reg

Apparently I'm a 'probationary' member so can only have 1 pm... Which I've deleted. ========================================

So give people your email address
