I'm looking for something that can do our Rally next year, non-commercial but 'vintage'. Anyone have any experience of reliablility/running costs?
Also, connected to the first question, 19 countries in 6 weeks with no 'useful' external support... How is that likely to work out?

Where’s your trip going ? Sounds fun?
Hi MD600, Ushuaia2USA.
I'd heard difficult to maintain (lots of greasing?) but perhaps not? Gazelle is also in the frame (my old cab!) but about 3x the money to purchase which is an issue...

Yes greasing before first flight of the day (possibly less if your using it each day but it only takes 10 mins when your used to it
Lots of alouettes and lamas South America so if you need engineer or parts they maybe available , but they are quite reliable
My alouettes don’t get that much use so it’s every time I fly
Yes Gazelle 3 to 4 times the cost

Is this still active?
Hi All,
Not sure if this thread is still active, but worth a shot!
I'm looking at purchasing an Alouette II and was wondering if there are any UK maintenance organisations that would cover it on a C of A?
Thanks in advance!
