IR in the UK or somwehere else?

I'm in the process of deciding for the school to do my ME-IRH with, later this year. I already have some eMails with information and some prices from the UK (Bond & Bristow) and one from EHC. Now that the Euro/GBP exchange rate has tanked, the IR in the UK is massively more expensive than some time ago.

My question is: Does the additional cost increase my chances of getting hired? I know the North Sea isn't looking good for now but how much of an edge over others would it give me, having done the IR with Bond or Bristow should I apply at one of the big 3 in Aberdeen?

I'm not talking about a couple grand, more like >20,000 Euros

I do know that Bond and Bristow offer top notch training but the difference in price is eye watering. Also I heard good things about EHC from people who have done their training there in the last 2 years.

Cheers

Realistically, neither company is going to be doing much hiring over the next 2 years. If they do, they will be picking up experienced pilots which have been released by the other operators (which is already happening).

What chance will you have with a fresh IR and zero NS experience? Not much at all, I'm afraid.

Would I pay an extra €20k in order to be trained by Bristow/Bond? A couple of years ago, yep. Last year, probably yes. Right now? No way, I'm afraid.

You've missed the current NS boat, I'm afraid. The industry is now probably going to go through a couple of years downturn and contraction. Watch out for the next upturn in about 3 years time.
