Mahe Drysdale To The Rescue On Mt Ngauruhoe | Stuff.co.nz

Otherwise, cool story. Not mentioned in the article: Drysdale's Partner, Juliet Haigh, who assisted, was a bronze rowing medalist at London.

You can see the slopes of Mt Ngauruhoe in the photo background. This mountain is a fairly regular volcanic cone and would defeat the slope landing capability of any helicopter!

Ha! The editor must be a PPRuNe lurker. Can still see "... Vos to a stretcher slung 110 metres beneath ..." on a google ghost image!
