Otherwise, cool story. Not mentioned in the article: Drysdale's Partner, Juliet Haigh, who assisted, was a bronze rowing medalist at London. You can see the slopes of Mt Ngauruhoe in the photo background. This mountain is a fairly regular volcanic cone and would defeat the slope landing capability of any helicopter! |
