US CPL(H) + IR licenses is valid... where?
What parts of the world accepts FAA IR license, or FAA licenses in general for that matter? Russia/Australia/New Zeeland/Middle east/Africa?
Reason I ask is to get an idea of what the options for (offshore) jobs are without me getting the rather expensive EASA IR rating.

I believe airplane and company must be US registered.
In Africa (every country I know of there) you have to convert your CPL to that country's CPL, unless it's a US company with a US plane.
In the UK, your FAA CPL (or PPL) is good as a PPL, but to get paid you have to have a JAA CPL or be flying for a US company in a US plane.

Many countries in the Middle East, China except HK (need written exam), Australia (need written exam). The EASA is seen as universally "better" for off shore, but you can be second in command with the cpl+ir. I donīt know about South America, bur surely they will accept FAA(?).
