I have a Swedish PolyTech 350 Gimbal with full EASA certification (fully documented package incl' EASA Certificate, FMS, installation Instructions, drawings, etc), Does any body know if the FAA now validate EASA Certification for use in the USA on a 'N' registered helicopter. The mount fits a Hughes 500 helicopter. I had read that they, (EASA & FAA) were moving toward bi-lateral approvals of STC's & mods?

Actually you only need certification for the mount. If you take the Airfilm (Meeker Aviation) mount, it is already FAA STC´d. By the way, I also own a Polytech 350 III, cant get it to use. Know anybody wanting one?

The FAA does validate EASA approvals. I believe, for this particular installation, the approval would have to be submitted/approved through the certification office in New York.
