Type ratings for Multi -Engine

Has the flight instruction for a subsequent ME rating been reduced from 5hrs to 3hrs ?

Any help appreciated lasors 07 says 5hrs
lasors 08 says 3hrs

Yes

JAR FCL2 Amendment 6 Appendix 1 to 2.261(b)

MET(H) to MET(H) at least 3 hrs in the helicoper or
Using FS C/D: At least 1 hr helicopter and at least 6 4 hrs total or
Using FTD 2/3: At least 2 hrs helicopter and at least 5 hrs total
If you download the pdf of Amdt 6 its on page 168.

This is one of the changes allowed under AIC 72/2007, as we in the UK are still under Amdt 3.

It can be three hours when the TRTO has an approved training program.

If they only have said program for a five hour course they have to give five hours training. You could try and convince them to have it changed and approved for three hours.

Read FCL-2 as well.
