London closed to helicopters today.......11th Sept?

Any idea why LTCC has closed london to helicopter traffic today ?
I presume jets are still alowed to land at city northolt and heathrow !

Not doubting what you say, but from what source did you get this information?

Just checked AIS website and NOTAMs and no mention of this restriction

I was filming the England v Croatia game; called to activate the SFN and was told Heathrow and Thames NOTAM closed "due to staff shortages"

In the event I was permitted to use the airspace under Northolt control and while it shouldn't make any difference I guess the live broadcast of an international match did have some influence.

I thought training was never permitted on the heli routes ?

No harm in having a media helicopter "on patrol" on 9/11 near our national treasures....and they feared Uncle Ian would take'em to court
