"Generous pilot" finds man missing for seven days.

Brotherly love and a generous helicopter pilot have found a bloke missing for a week in a remote and hostile part of Australia, days after the formal search was scaled down.

In a radio report the bother of the missing man said that success was down to the "generosity of the pilot".

Also, apparently they were just about to turn back due to low fuel when he was found.

Well done that pilot!

I agree, a good job done but he was lucky too. An ex-colleague of mine from UK went missing in the early 1990s. He'd only been in Oz for about 3 months, was newly married and had emigrated. He and a friend went into the outback and their truck broke down. His friend was found badly dehydrated after three days after trying to walk out but I don't think my ex-colleague's body ever was found.

Well done to everyone concerned.

A lucky man.

It's a big, big place. I did an Army exchange in 87 and heard the story of a fast jet crew who ejected in the mountains to the north of Sidney. The crew were found ok, but no sign of the wreckage of their aircraft. However, during the search, the wreckage of three separate light aircraft crashes were found. Nobody knew that they were missing.
