Bond Offshore Sold?

Word in the oil patch is that Bond Offshore Helicopters has been sold. The buyer is rumored to be Qatar based Gulf Helicopters. Anyone else heard anything?

This is a rumour network. If Industry Insider heard that rumour then he is entitled to post it.

Call me old fashioned but frankly, there is no need for you to be quite so rude. On a professional rumour network made up of professional people, we should be able to be civil and polite. If you disagree with II, then say so but in a constructive manner.

If you have neither rumour nor fact nor anything intelligent to add to the discussion, you may consider not posting at all. Your post doesn't really add much to the discussion, does it?

I was always led to believe that if no rumour had been overheard by Ten A.M. then one was to start one.

I thought this was a rumour network. Quoting a source would make it more of a fact network in my view.

But, to give it some credibility (it may not be true of course) the source was a European OEM with a headquarters in Marignane.

Hippolite - Feeling a little delicate this morning? This is indeed a rumour network and I apologise if my statement was a little abrasive for you. With no other indication of where this rumour had come from I was merely suggesting that it had first passed through the digestive system of a horse and had no substance to it.

Starting a rumour is one thing if it sparks useful or interesting discussion or happens to be particularly funny but this is neither. As nick says, this is just a randon statement. As for who's bought out Bond and the suggested payrises it sounds like people are taking the piss.

I don't really understand why you are telling me off for not adding anything intelligent to the discussion when as far as I can tell, there isn't really a discussion taking place! This thread is made up of a random statement followed by some piss-taking, the rest seems to be about the rights and wrongs of my earlier post.

Unless anyone can bring anything useful to the table on this one I suggest the mods delete the thread.

PS anyone heard the news this morning??? The Met Police in London have just replaced their EC145's with a fleet of Brantly B-2B's...

Snoop rumours

Hippolite
This is supposed to be a Professional PILOTS rumour network not any Tom, Dick or Harry network.
Seems to be a free for all now.
Whoever said professional pilots are polite.

No, not feeling sensitive. It was a good if unsubstantiated rumour but I see that Cyclic Hotline and II have now given two sources to the rumour so maybe there is something to it.

Offshore Heli

Not sure what you are suggesting but last time I checked I had a professional license and my name isn't Tom Dick or Harry which technically should allow me to post. I guess the mods could always ban me if they thought it appropriate or that I wasn't qualified, I will leave it to them.

Always tell when its been foggy in ABZ, rumours get started out of boredom. The pay rise sounds great though for all involved

Is it true a Porsche driving 92 Type Captain has dusted off his Resume' and faxed it off to Caverton in anticipation of new possiblilites in the Bight of Biafra and perhaps the North Sea in due time?

Wingnut might just find himself working with old friends once again....in the land of termite mounds and Gulder if the deal goes through.

This story does seem to coincide with a fair few days of foggy weather in Abz, and there is a nothing as mischievous as a fog bound pilot.

Maybe 'First Reserve' have bought them.
Wouldn't be the first time that the Bond family have sold out on the workforce.
