Farnborough Highlights

Went to SBAC yesterday on business, nice pieces of kit....from AgustaWestland stand, Italian Army Air Cavalry NH-90, SAR/EMS AW109S Grand from ELilombarda, Turkish AW139, new Swiss registered AW119KE, Danish SAR Merlin,

The BA609 flying display was excellent, and the HAL Dhruv display team were great, The Sarang.

Had a great poke around the H92 SUperhawk CSAR demo

Will upload pics asap
Cheers

Anyone know which channel TV coverage of Farnborough 2008 will be on? (and when?)

Thanks, SFHawk.

nigelh,

You had to attend the briefing (either in person or someone on your behalf) if you wanted to use the heliport. This was an entirely sensible 'restriction' considering the entry and exit routes and the fact that the heliport was still operational during the displays.

Did you try asking to use the main runway whilst the displays were on?

Bravo actually we were taking 3 pax who were interested in buying a jet and had been invited to a stand . Firstly we were told that we could NOT get a briefing from another pilot and then that we would therefore NOT be able to come sorry but in this day and age to treat prospective customers like that is crazy .......we then booked in with the airport and didnt use the heliport ...saying we were not going to the show .....that was fine !!!! I am just against the ever increasing beaurocratic nonsense wrapping aviation up .....we flew 40 people in and out of Silverstone and did not need a "close up personal briefing " and one was not necc for this event . We are now flying golfers around for the open and the seniors ...again there is beaurocracy of some policeman saying he doesnt want helis landing at the course give the buggers an inch and you may as well give up ............and i,m not giving up

About time Bell got dragged kicking and screaming out the 1960's, the airframe still looks like an overweight 206. Great to see them moving forward though.
