If cruising at 500 ft agl with that load even an old S76A would keep cruising. A C model has more grunt, so I'm surprised if it was only a single engine failure & the pilots couldn't fly away or find a better landing spot. Of course we don't have all the info.

It is definite the cause of the incident is not engine related. Both engine still operating till impact to ground. The investigator suspected this has something to do either with the autopilot or servo's.
Malaysia maybe?
Myanmar? Indonesia?
The prang they had in Indonesia on the Total contract wouldn't have helped their longevity in the offshore business.
Interestingly, I just noticed Hevilift advertising for B206 pilots to work in remote Australia.
8 weeks on 2 weeks off, very easy minimums. Guessing probably paying the GA Award rate and no more. Smart move, they're bound to get a truck loads of applicants bearing in mind the current state of the industry in that part of the world.

As far as I know the different business units are separate entities with their own Chief Pilot etc, but the senior management of the Hevilift Group are the Booij brothers.
