Firefighting
Hello!
Just wondering if someone has info on operators that have seasonal fire-fighting contracts in southern europe?
What aircraft is predominantly used for fire-fighting around the mediterranean?
Hope someone out there can lend a hand.

There are a shortage of pilots for the firefighting season in Spain and Portugal as every year. B407s, B212s, 412s. A119s, B3s, Kamovs. Thats the machines are fliyng here. You should be able to speak the local language (Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan) and hold a JAA license.

I assume Grupo Inaer require you to be fluent in Spanish on top of the requirements they have listed on their site?
Man, it would suck to have to fly helicopters while based out of somewhere like Seville!!
I love that part of Spain.
Now I just have to invest in some Spanish lessons!!!

A word of warning re Portugal.
A few operators up there have strung aussie/kiwi companies along wanting to get helos there but the ONE rule that Portugese CAA insist on and that is Portugese co-pilot or else no contract. And that has always been a deal breaker.
