The Gimli glider comes to mind. Aviation is littered with examples like this - what can possibly go wrong?!?!

A small point....but in Vegas as well as the entire United States....Air Temp is by default measured in Degrees F....as we have not adopted the Metric System.

No mental gymnastics needed for American Pilots flying in....America.

As for doing Weight and Balance/Performance calculations.....most aircraft charts either have a Conversion Table or have both C and F Indexes on the Chart.

Wow, That's a small pad, you wouldn't even see that as you put the skids down. Respect to bush pilots. It would take a while to get that feel again.

Have you read the Gimli Glider Cause?
It was excactly a mix up between kg, gallons and the conversionfactors, which led to the gliding landing....
It's all fine if everything runs smoothly- but when the stress sets in an the holes in the cheese start to line up, it could be an advantage to have some holes removed in advance....

Yes the helipads are pretty small - The mirror for the longline in the chin bubble sure helps. Having a crew practice CRM and remind the pilot on take off about the wires behind sure helps too.

Yes Photobucket now wants to charge $400 to host pics shown on sites like this.

Needless to say I am disappointed in their new "business" policy and am switching as fast as I can to a better hosting service.

Sorry for the litter

I will apologize for all my pics on this thread that can no longer be viewed. I will not pay photobucket for the 3rd party posting capability. I have switched to Imgur which is free. Testing it out here, Waiting for a fire dispatch:

According to the Photobucket site:
If you were a Plus Account subscriber in good standing as of June 1, 2017, you will continue to have all the privileges you have enjoyed including 3rd Party Hosting until December 31, 2018 as long as you maintain your
subscription.
So you have time to move.

Pay peanuts....get Monkeys

G'day Folks with picture hosting problems, my Photobucket account which I've been using for 8 years without any dramas, has a capacity of 34gigs @ $20usd per annum....not bad I thought? Fast, stable, secure & thoroughly reliable If it's free You gotta ask Yourself what else am I getting? Ads, spam, security issues, etc
