On post #5516 where you can see the "Thialf", is it me and my bad eyes or is the platform moving and going somewhere?

Dragons Lair

R22 in the hover at the base of Wallaman Falls Queensland in 2001. When you pull into an OGE hover next to a waterfall beastie time slows to a crawl, it's the most amazing experience.

Childs Play

Found in a kids sandpit at Esperance Western Australia 2004. Built by their LAME (Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) dad the finish was a lot better than a lot of commercially built machines.

Nice work, Capt.

Are they crops from an original file, or have you been buying yourself a panoramic camera?

I do have a medium format panoramic camera (Yes, film!) but these panoramic images are multiple images stitched together in Photoshop.

It's the Wet up in the north of Western Australia, so the flying from Broome to Truscott and back was....... interesting

On the way around Derby there are areas of the coast that are just stunning, many with tidal falls of dozens of metres!

Truscott is an old RAAF wartime base, as far beyond the Black Stump as you'd want to go without swimming the Timor Sea:

CHC Australia have 4 Super Pumas and a 225 there: and plenty of books to read

During a ferry flight over France; intercepted by a Mirage...
Cool thing; airspeed was around 120 kts.
Just wave your hands and smile.

Then on to Derby and Broome:
