This Photo of EP-HAM ,a very fickle Agusta 204B with a Gnome engine,taken in 1974 in Bushehr Iran ,may bring (mixed) memories to some of the oldies out there.

The picture of G-AVII brings back some memories alright! I had Steve Bell and Steve Menham (Dave Price did a couple of sorties, too) for an IR course a few years ago

Small world. I've got a tail rotor blade cuff sitting in front of me, full of pens and 'stuff'. It came off 204B EP-HAM. Today's useless information MkI.

Ladies/Gentlemen;

I worked for Bristow at Ras Shukheir in the 70s. It is so great to see all of the pictures being posted and I am trying to locate my albums of Egypt to post a few of my own.

really enjoyed photo's featured in Bristow photo's, are there any up to date pics available from Nouakchott, Mauretania (B412 G-OIBU) or Atyrau, Kazakhstan, (S76C's G-KAZA & G-KAZB), & where are B212's G-BALZ & G-BFER these days ?

The Central Flying School Guild Trophy

Awarded to: CAPTAIN DEREK JONES




After leaving the RAF in 1977 and gaining his civil fixed-wing and rotary licences, he worked as a QHI at Bristow Helicopters Flying School at Redhill Aerodrome for the next 20 years, becoming a CAA Flight Examiner and TRE and then Chief Flying Instructor. Bristow’s school trained mainly Bristow sponsored trainee pilots and was the largest professional helicopter pilot training school in the UK, producing helicopter pilots of the highest calibre. Derek Jones’ exemplary standards and personal capability were crucial elements in achieving and maintaining such excellence in basic flying training.He also held approval to conduct Helicopter Flying Instructor courses and became widely recognised as one of the best civil helicopter instructor trainers in the country.
