Only 3 posts from Hilock so I'm guessing he's not aware you're not allowed to ask questions like that on this forum anymore. The 'wait for the AIB report' culture dominates.

I'm surprised at you Heliport. Many of my friends have been killed in the past but I would like to think I didn't inflict my grief on unsuspecting passers by. .

Having read the report I am suprised that ATC were not brought to task.

When B48 asked ATC if Area Left was serviceable their reply should have included 'yes, but be aware that C22 is also using it'.

It might have helped with establishing a better situation awareness for both instructors and crew, particularly B48.
