Tynecastle - There was a Pelita Puma at Medan when we were on our way through there but all it was doing was carrying some VIPS around and was decked out in a VIP config.

Ned

P.S. Am home now but going back to BA straight after Heli Expo, leaving direct from LAX to HK and then Jakarta to jump on a Herc up to BA.

These are a few pics from a friend at Heli Harvest here in NZ, they have a Mil-8 working up there.

This topic is great!

I took all these pictures while on a recent trip in which I flew for MTV's shows Road Rules, The Real World and The Inferno, one of the jobs was to drop some fake money from low altitude all over a Golf Course and have the contestants collect some of it, over all it was al lot of fun, the location was the Grand Bay hotel in Barra de Navidad in the Pacific.

This is a small colonial city on the way there.

This small volcano is called Paricutin and is still active

After the eruption of the volcano in the previous picture the only thing left of the town was this stone church, and now its all surrounded by hardened lava.

Lots of warm beaches

Cruise Ship in Manzanillo

The hotel where all was taking place

This is a picture of the contest, you can see the contestants running for the money and the camera men chasing all over in the blazing heat

This is right before we took off

A few pics from a fire in north west Victoria, Australia last week. In the last pic note the ground speed on the GPS of 83.3kts and the indicated airspeed of 40kts!

And a few from further north.......

Took these shots from 10,000' of Ayers Rock (or Uluru depending on your cultural sensitivity.) Took these whilst flying a photographer who was shooting some still photos to superimpose UNDER a Qantas 747 for a new ad.

Cheers,

Hollywood

Here are some images I am hosting for Gabra1. The things being loaded into the back of the BO105 are coffins and the orange bag on the side of the road in Aceh township is a body bag so they are still getting bodies out, now nearly a month after the Tsunami hit.

RS2,

Your pictures are beautiful, you not only captured great angles of helicopters, but the contrast, depth, saturaration and outstanding sharpeness are evident.

Can you tell us what equipment are you using?

I really like the fact that they are perfectly suited for web display since they are just the right size 800 x 600 pixels, they show full in any monitor and don't make the thread too slow to load, especially for dialup users.

Muchas Gracias

Hey Hollywood,

You mean Qantas get the ads at the Rock again? Maybe you should try for the group shot of your aircraft with it in the background, got a spare "donation" for the community at hand?

Been up to fly my father for the first time, on his 70th birthday. WX perfect for the occasion, Dad delighted.

More to follow!

Benet

I've reduced the size of your picture because it was too big for most monitor settings.
700-750 pixels width is good for most pics.
If it's an exceptional shot, go up to 800 but no more.
(Yours was 1200)

BlenderPilot,

Thanks for your kind comments, I do like helicopters as a photographic subject above other forms of aviation.

I use all Canon gear, traditional and digital although all the shots on here are taken using the digital.

Some were taken on a D60 others on a 10D as I traded my D60 in for a 10D about 14 months ago.

I still love the quality and colour reproduction of E6 transparency film but have yet to find a good quality reasonably priced scanning service hence the images I have posted are off the digi rather than wet film.

As they are taken on the D60 or 10D they come out in the traditional wet film proportions of 6x4 so I simply resize them to 800pixels wide before I post them on here.

Cheers

RS2

Another couple of night time shots from EGBO (my local airfield).

and a couple taken on my travels

Cool shots! If we brighten up the lighting effect just slightly in the first picture, it would make a PERFECT PPRuNe calendar for August. Well, I suppose it will be cooler whether down under, but the summer storms will be in full swing up here.
