Practice Areas

From time to time some of us lesser mortals in the South of England have the need to practice hovering etc. What are the favoured areas for such activities? Own paddocks are out in the interest of neighbour relations-similarly many aerodromes are a little reluctant. What about non-active military training areas (I am sure if you asked the MOD the answer would be "no" but then do you need to ask?). What about unoccupied beaches? Presumably remote fields are OK if you don't land thereby trespassing(?) I appreciate many piots would jealously guard such areas -so no specifics are required -just guidelines - or perhaps none of you need to practice any more!!

When selecting "remote places" (esp. Coastal) BEWARE they may also be SSSI's, NNR's and a whole host of other 'protected' environments.

Check the National Nature Reserve and SSSI website before finally hovering there.
