Shipping from UK to USA
I need to get some heli parts from Cornwall, UK to the USA. It's less than $3,000 worth, 500lbs and should fit in a 20ft can. Problem is Expeditors wants $3500 to the east coast and $4500 to the west coast. Anyone know of a cheaper way to ship or maybe someone willing to share a 40ft can? West coast prefered but I'll take anywhere on the mainland I can get.
Have you tried all the normal freight carriers, Fed-Ex, DHL, UPS, etc.
Most of them have deals for space available, larger items, which will go when the aircraft is not maxed out.
You may need to box, or mount it on a sled, depending what it is.
I have shipped entire Helicopters, sets of Main Rotor Blades and various other large items with these carriers.
Call them and ask.

I've used PSS in Croydon for shipping world-wide. Got a good quote for whole container to Oz. They also do container shares.

Thanks for the contact info guys. I'll check them out and see what I can find.
Hughes 500, to answer your question. It's a bunch of misc small parts: exhausts, starters, generators, L/G parts, two canopies (about a 4ft X 4ft X 4ft box) and a couple tail booms. Like I said, should fit in a 20ft conatainer no problem.
