Working overseas

I'm just finishing up my commercial / CFI. When done I'll have about 250 helicopter, 150 airplane as well as having worked as an A&P, IA and Avionics Repairman for 10+ years. I figure I'll have to do a bit of instructing but I'm wondering if anyone might have some ideas about the chances for an overseas job either in Africa, Australia or anywhere else for that matter. I chatted with a fellow last year who was working flying tours in Botswana. Anybody have any leads I could follow up on for pilot/mechanic positions?

Apparently they like pilot/mechanics in Guam on the Tuna boats.

In Oz, I believe you need 400 hours to instruct.

Most of the big companies in Africa (CHC/Bristow), you'll need about 2,500 hours to meet up with oil company requirements.

i assume you did CFI in order to instruct?
i would instruct for a year or so, and get yourself 1000+ TT
Sorry but 250hr pilots are everywhere, unless you stand out
from the crowd, IR or something, you need hours, mechanic
background may help. but i would get some hrs first.

down the road

Sorry if that was a little unclear. Yep I do plan to instruct first to build up my hours. I'm just looking for ideas and contacts for when I get a few more hours under the belt. I don't mind sitting for the exams to convert my ratings I'm just looking for something a bit more interesting than the typical tour pilot route. I thought the mechanic / pilot rating might help out a bit in some of the more remote locals. I recall a few comments about some work in Africa, I think it was under the mustering thread. Just looking to chat with some folks who have done it or who might have some contacts.
