Has anybody achieved 25 solo's within 100 hours instruction to up grade from FI(R)to FI. I now have 85 hours instruction with only 8 solo,s.
The majority to of AFI's are only doing T/L's so i don't know they will go on. I have been lucky to get 2No students and still only have 8 solo's.
The FI does the approval for the first solo.
The FI does the qualifing Nav solo.
So there's 4 hours out of the ten gone.
Maybe we should send them for 15 mins at a time

You guys in the UK are so structured. Dont they just kick you lose to fly once in a while.... . I had a Beer yesterday with Nr Fairy. hes over here doing some flying (albeit in a Robbie). He seemed to really enjoy it.....Like where shall I go to today. Hes been all over California and is now going from Las Vegas, through Death Valley (going to have a negative field elevation in the log book -211 ft) and over to Arizona. As we talked I could tell he has been into some really busy airspace and handled it really well. THATS good training. . .Save your Pounds or Euros, come on over across the puddle and get some interesting time.

You hit the nail on the head, do lots of trips with your students. ie do 40 mins or so of quickstops, sloping ground etc and leave your student to do the final 20 mins as solo. Of course only get out if he is capable, but you will find it builds your students confidence no end and helps get your 25 solos.Remember you only have to supervise, so if someone is doing a refesher or conversion and you are supervising it counts.
Keep smiling the 25 does come round. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
