Landing a heli in south london
Question for those of you who may do this same kind of thing...
just bought a Hughes 500c and am looking to land it occaisionally at my plant yard in Mitcham, South London. The link below shows the whereabouts on multi-map. It's actually outside the Heathrow TMA/CTA.
There is a large open area (Mitcham Common) to the South of the proposed landing site. This probably helps? Does anyone know the actual law regarding landing a heli in this type of area?
It's a predominantly industrial surrounding area so neighbours would be doing well to hear the helicopter landing during the day.
Thanks for help in advance...http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...=9&scale=10000

It's not so much the neighbours you need to worry about. It's the CAA who will require you to get their written permission for any landing site within a congested area. See Rule 5 in CAP 393 via CAA website. And, if it's a GA flight, you will need to write to CAA SRG GA at Gatwick - Keith Thomas.
