Lightbulb Unicom Freq.

Does anybody have a contact name/number for the relevent authority, so that the Police/EMS world can revive our unicom freq?
130.42 has now allocated to Halton, now if two or more of us are operating in the same area, (in the open FIR) it would be good flight safety to talk to each other.

This deconfliction issue is being resolved thru BHAB, currently, Semi.

In the meantime while the appropriate authorities try to thrash out a very simple issue, we in the N West have agreed amongst ourselves what frequency we will be talkin on, to prevent bumping into each other.

What a sad state of affairs...

Thanks for the reply Thomas, so the BHAB have got involved with this one? Only 13 years to retirement, I wonder if I will ever see a unicom for Police / EMS?

Call me a cycnic, but I don't suppose there will be a UNICOM frequency until there is an accident attributable to de-confliction and aircraft not talking on the same frequency.

The whole aspect of the withdrawl of the frequency left a lot to be desired. NATS did not officially notify either the CAA or the Home Office hence the reason that it was still in the PAOM. Word of mouth to the HO Police Aviation Adviser.

I've found that the relevant ATC agencies are very helpful when in or close to CAS. It is very difficult to find a frequency these days to speak on. I still find it hard to believe that a facility, purely for flight safety, is withdrawn and other organisations and airlines still have official company frequencies.
