According to Scottish TV lunchtime news the new offer from management has been rejected and the pilot workforce will be balloted on strike action.

Red face

Ally1987

The "new" offer was actually worse than the previous insult that was on the table.

It is quite clear that Scotia's Managment do not take the pilot workforce seriously.

Bad Idea!!!!
Very Bad Idea indeed.

The pilot workforce are professional people and would like to be treated with respect and will not tolerate a belligerent and decietful style of managment.

Angry

I wouldn't consider £21k increase in salary over 3 years an insult, and I wish I could get pay rises like that in my company!

what was the offer then, and what are you lot doing about it? I heard that there was a strike ballot taken a couple of days ago.....is that true? If so what's happening?

Question

BHPS, you seem to have got your figures slightly amiss and should know more detail before you make comments like this. Put it this way; With one hand they giveth, with the other they taketh away!

Pithlink:

My info came from the press as I am not privy to any other info. If that's wrong, then I'm sorry, but I can only go on what I read. Give us the real gen then.

QM:

I read in the press that Scotia pilots are to be balloted in the next week for possible strike action. I got that from the papers, so no doubt that is wrong also (before I get criticised by Pitchlink again).

The following link makes interesting reading:

I can understand that the CC doesn't want an bunfight about the negotiations in here, but it would be interesting to know what the deal was in general terms. This might explain gnomic remarks such as 'they give with one hand and take away with the other'.

The problem with general terms about the pay deal for Scotia Pilots is just that. The company wont put anything consistent in writing, and as for the press release from CHC ca .Well lets get one thing straight its not BAlpa its the pilots who are in Balpa and those who are not who are saying NO.
Maybe thats the problem as we have been discussing these pay deals since May of this year perhaps they dont realise its their workforce who are saying no.Maybe they need longer.
I also find interesting that the pay deals are only valid until the end of October.Look at the dates of the press releases and the date we rejected the deals(27/09/01)
