The Cathederal? Other side of the square!!!

I am very disappointed. For the first time in about 10 years (and six years since climbing in a 300 for the first time) i sat down to watch Where Eagles Dare the other night remembering a helicopter doing a nice approach to a rather confined area at the Schloss Alder castle.
Were my eyes deciving me???? Was that a Bell 47????? It looked suspiciously like the machine I did my CPL flight test on, minus the Swastika and grey paint work. so come on you Rotorhead nerds. What was it (serial number) and who flew it. And what was the DA at the time of filming?

Crikey, the Nazi's had Bell 47s? Is this another example of the post-war US ripping off captured German technology?
