I'M BACK
I want to thank all of you that responded with your best wishes and kind thoughts. Some of your messages were humorous and others were serious and there were a few that wanted to get technical. My problem was a long time coming and manifested itself in weakness in my legs. Finally my blood sugar jumped to almost 30 on the Richter scale. Normal is between 5-8. It was after two bone marrow extractions I was diagnosed with Leukemia. It threw the fear of GOD into me because my brother died from Leukemia. I went through one week of intensive chemo infusions. They gave me a medication that kept me from puking my guts out. The worst thing about the chemo treatment was that it felt like a dog snuck into my room while I was sleeping and deposited about six pounds of dog sh!t in my mouth and that happened every night while the treatment was taking place (one week). The residual sh!t took about two weeks to disappear. I was in the hospital from mid February until two days ago.
After the third bone marrow extraction the doctor told me that the Leukemia was in complete remission with a very small chance or reoccurring. In any case I am out of the hospital and have to use a walker to get around. That too should go away in several weeks when I regain my strength.
I hope to get involved with PPRuNe in a few days. I will try to refrain from the use of the numbers 18 and 72 as well as any reference to centrifugal and centripetal forces and gyroscopic precession but then again if it involves an argument with you guys I may not be able to refrain from chiming in with my point of view.
Again, thanks for caring.

You wont be getting paid until you fill out the Pprune 'sick leave form'.
Welcome back Lu and may your recovery be full and lasting!
But dont forget to close your door at night, to keep the dogs out.

Lu, go easy! Welcome back and take care. When you are done with that walking frame, be careful where you leave it or Frank Robinson might use it for an undercarriage

Glad to have you back, things were getting dull.
Very glad you've pulled through after what must have been a truly horrible experience - nice to see that willpower pulls through in the end!

Its just not the same without you, Lu! I think we could even ask you to use 18 or 72 in a thread, just not together!!
Congratulations on making it back to us. Big triumph, you deserve many years more from this world!
