One of the comments identifies the pilot as Hauptman Karl Zimmerman, World helicopter Aerobatic Champion ( more than once, I believe ).

But thats not correct! This Bo105 was flown by Siegfried Hoffmann, by that time chieftestpilot at MBB.

What is the downside of a hinge less rotor system considering the numerous accidents due to the conventional type failing in some form or another?
