Another sad day.
A SEARCH was under way today after an air ambulance crashed off the west coast of Scotland.
A pilot and paramedic were on board when the fixed-wing Islander went down at around 12.15am. The light aircraft had set off from Glasgow to Machrihanish and was due to pick up a child who needed medical treatment.
Wreckage is being investigated in the sea around eight miles from Campbeltown Airport, off the Mull of Kintyre, Argyll & Bute.
The Islander is one of three such aircraft operated for the Scottish Ambulance Service by Loganair, based in Glasgow, Lerwick and Kirkwall.
