I HAVE JUST HEARD FROM A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE THAT THE GREAT NORTH AIR AMBULANCE BASED IN BLYTH NORTHUMBERLAND IS TO CLOSE AS OF THE 31/03/05, THIS IS DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS AS THE CHARITY IS NOW DIRECTING ALL ITS EFFORTS TO THE NEW AIR AMBULANCE BASED IN TEESIDE.
THIS WILL BE A BIG LOSS TO THE COMMUNITY AS IT HAS NOW BEEN OPERATING FOR OVER 14 YEARS AND WAS THE FIRST AIR AMBULANCE IN THE "NORTH".
SEEMS TO ME THE NEW CHARITY HAS BITTEN OFF MORE THAN IT CAN CHEW AS IT WILL HAVE CLOSED TWO UNITS IN THE SPACE OF A MONTH.
SAD DAY FOR THE NORTHEAST OF ENGLAND !

ITS CLOSING DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS THEY HAVE SPENT ALL THERE MONEY IN TEESSIDE ON A SHINY 902 THAT SHOULD HAVE WENT TO BLYTH, SEEING AS THAT WAS THE FIRST UNIT IN THE NORTH.
ITS ALSO TO FAR SOUTH TO COVER AS FAR UP AS THE SCOTTISH BORDERS IT WILL BE JUST AS QUICK FOR A ROAD AMBULANCE TO GO

Is it just me, or is it nonsensical to enforce the operation of twin-engined helicopters when funding comes from children rattling tins and jumble sales? Especially in Northumbria, which is overwhelmingly rural?

355,
I was under the impression that the aircraft you mentioned is now owned by your maintenance and pilotage provider and has been since they decided to take the lease deal on the 902.
Something to do with PDG sniffing around the contract?
