This is no ordinary Helicopter pilot role!
This is no ordinary Helicopter pilot role!
My client is a successful business owner who is about to purchase his first Helicopter. Based in Gloucestershire, you will already have a CPL(H) and be rated on R44 or Eurocopter. You should also have at least 200hrs on type and min. 500hrs TT. Ideally, you will also be instructor rated.
My client is looking for someone with a very flexible "can do" approach to work, and ideally well experienced. Your role will involve flying my client to and from business meetings and events, looking after the maintenance (contracting to third parties) and treating the operation of the helicopter as your project. You will oversee all aspects of its operation.
When not flying, you will be happy to turn your hand to other ad-hoc duties including acting as a car driver for the Directors if needed. You should also hold a full clean driving licence, an unrestricted EU passport and have the right to live and work in the UK.
The position would suit someone maybe from an ex-military background, or someone currently at instructor level or with a good wealth of experience. You should be friendly, dynamic and outgoing.
In reward, you can look forward to an above average salary and a private apartment at base.
Remember, this is no ordinary role, you need to be the best and have the flexible personality to go with it!

Hardly sounds interesting, sitting by the helicopter while they are inside all day, telling everyone there helicopter is waiting outside!

What do you think the Pilot does for an on base VIP operation! It's 24/7 with no persoanl life and doesn't suit everyone. However for a self improver it's a good way of learning about the business and getting some hours building at the same time. The drawbacks of this job seem to outweigh the bonus points and I suspect that the dogsbody jobs would be the norm with some flying thrown in.
The salary would have to be generous but with free accommodation it may be abated. Also if it's a R44 it would appear to be a limited operation but who knows.
