Helicopter Purchase
Friends,
I am interested in purchasing a helicopter from Brazil to Europe. It has been maintained by a type approved maintenence company.Further equipment was installed at factory . The Helicopter will be delivered FOB Sao Paulo, Brazil with further ADs & inspections complied and EXPORT CERTIFICATE C of A issued by DGAC - Brazilian Aviation Authority.
Are there pitfalls associated in importing the helicopter to a JAR compliant state? Will they accept STC's carried out in-situ?
Appreciate any helpful comments

Goldenhawk,
We imported a 206 from Sao Paulo to Australia about 12 months ago.
we didnt have any problems on our end except for the usual transition to get a Austrlian CofA, which wasnt a problem.
They supplied us with all the export papers, cerificates etc and was handed to our CASA authority for registration purposes. Packing and export papers were handled by the Brasil agents and they did a good job, just make sure if they ship it over in wooden crates and packing that its been fumigated or you may need to get it fumigated on the docks in eurpoe before they accept the package, this takes about 24hrs. you may need also a packing declaration, but im sure you may have looked into it.
There are some great helicopters available there very low time quality machines im sure youve seen if not been there to inspect the acft. PM me if you want any more details
cheers BT
