California: Safe landing after loss of hydraulic power

It has been reported that a Santa Barbara County firefighter had to make an emergency landing Saturday after the helicopter he was flying lost hydraulic power. The pilot is reported as being John Fehrs.
Seems like he pulled off a good landing in difficult circumstances.

Of course if had he been flying a civil certified version (Bell 205A1) he would have had the 2nd hydraulic system to back up the first ....his pulse rate would not have had to rise quite so high !!!!!

Spiningwings.....Nice to mention, but if Im correct lose both Hydraulics in a 205 and your answer is??
UH-1H without Hydraulics is not that big of a deal, newsfolks make things that fill pages.
Try the UH-1M with dual hydraulics and losing both is fatal. Probably wont see that, as would be the case in the 205, 412, but its nice to know that if everything goes (UH-1H) you can get it on the ground....
OR are you just poking to the fact that he is using a surplus Military aircraft vs a 205??

Had a hydraulics failure in a 204 while spraying a few years ago. It was uncomfortable but thought at the time that it didn't seem as bad as hydraulics off training I'd done a little while before in a Bell-47.
Had to fly about 30 miles back to base. With a shallow approach and a run on landing it was no real issue. I guess adrenalin is an acceptable substitute for hydraulic fluid.
